This ornament was designed from photos I had taken of a very picturesque location in the Cascade Mountains of Oregon. The Lake in the foreground is called Sparks Lake. The South Sister towers in the background at over 10,000 ft. This location has been the subject of many photographers, most noted being the late, acclaimed, landscape photographer Ray Atkeson.

Trout are such beautiful fish, with a grace and elegance equal to many of our land animals that more often become the artistic inspiration. This fish looks very much at home in the water as it spies its next meal. This was a fun ornament for me to design with the challenge of capturing the motion and look of water and the graceful movement of a fish.

Sea otter intricately cut wooden ornament. Approximate size is 4.5 by 3 inches, made from 1/8 inch birch with a ribbon at the top for hanging. Both sides of ornament are beautifully finished. This little guy is showing off his delicious breakfast of fresh crab!

Sea otters live along the Pacific coast.  Because they are an endangered species, with their main threat being oil spills, they have become an icon of environmental conservation.

Lighthouse intricately cut wood ornament. Approximate size is 3.5 by 4.5 inches, made from 1/8 inch birch with a ribbon at the top for hanging. Both sides of ornament are beautifully finished.

This lighthouse was modeled after the Heceta Head Lighthouse on the Oregon coast near Florence, OR.  It stands 205 feet above the ocean and is one of the most photographed on the coast.
